Today the marching band will take to the streets of Columbus to compete against some tough competition and 8th Grader Kole Mills will head to the State Middle School Meet to run against kiddos from all over the state.

Kearney Catholic wins game 1 with a score of 5-2. Lily Vavra led the way with 2 RBIs. Game two for the district starting at 1 pm.
Amherst Football hits the (long) road tonight to play the Kimball Longhorns at 5:00 PM MT.

The Amherst Broncos Cross Country Team will run at their last regular season Meet, today, at the Wilcox-Hildreth Meet hosted at Franklin, beginning at 1:00 PM. (See attached for more information)
This will be the conclusion of the JH Season, as well as be the last 2026 meet for 5 of the high school runners. 10 HS Runners will compete at Districts, next Thursday, in Cambridge.

The high school and elementary HAL kids had the opportunity to work on diamond art during our weekly meetings. Some kids completed their art while others have a bit more to finish up next week. This was a difficult activity for some and forced them to slow down a bit in order to be successful.
Junior high (HAL) High Ability learners got the chance to visit the UNK campus today. They got to complete a chemistry experiment and also got to learn some Italian and discuss different pizza toppings. The UNK dining hall was an experience for the noon meal as well. They also learned some basic information about the costs of college and what it might look like when they start deciding on a college.
Mr. Carson’s eighth grade science class groups were working on their marble run roller coaster lab. Students will investigate concepts of potential energy, kinetic energy, calculate velocity, and analyze the interrelationships between these types of energy.

Math review, teamwork, a little friendly competition in 3rd Grade!
Yesterday, our third grade students worked in groups to review important math skills and then put their thinking to the test with a fun game of Lines, Dots & Squares!
Lots of problem-solving, strategy, and learning happening all while having fun!
