Dear Parents/Guardians,

Because medical costs can be expensive, Amherst Public Schools does provide families the opportunity to purchase student accident insurance on their student through Student Assurance Servies, Inc.

This supplemental policy would assist with your out-of-pocket medical expenses (i.e. deductible) should your student sustain an accidental injury while coverage is in effect. Also, if you do not have any insurance on your student, this would be primary for accidental injuries. There is a variety of coverage options and premiums are a one-time payment for the school year.

If you have any questions about this coverage, please contact Student Assurance Services directly at (800) 328-2739.

Preston Cast and Kallen Easterday both represented Amherst well yesterday at the Nebraska State Junior High Championship in Gothenburg. Kallen finished 8th and Preston finished 9th in the 200 hurdles. Kallen also finished 5th in the 100 hurdles and had a personal best time of 14.64, before having to run his finals race into the wind. Kallen was able to get on the medal stand in both races in this very prestigious meet! Congratulations to both boys!
