The Kearney Catholic Stars boys' soccer team concluded their 2026 season in the District Tournament. On Tuesday, they earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Seward in overtime. In the District Final, they faced a strong Bennington team (ranked 2nd in Class B) and fell 7-0.
The boys had a very good season overall and showed great progress and character throughout the year.
The girls' team had a strong District Tournament run. On May 5, they defeated Hastings 2-0. In the District Final they suffered their first loss of the season, falling 3-0 to Scotus Columbus. However, they earned a wild card and advanced to the State Tournament, where they will face Elkhorn on May 13.
Congratulations to both teams on a successful 2026 season!
Good luck at State, girls! We’ll be cheering for you!
