This year's Nebraska State FBLA Leadership Conference was held in Kearney, April 16th-18th. The theme was “Make your Mark” and 143 Nebraska Chapters met the challenge through participation in state projects, competitive events, and chapter activities. This year, there were almost 2300 students participating, Amherst sent 8 members to compete. There are over 100 events that students could participate in, and our students participated in 32 events during the two days.
If they placed top 3 in events, they would move onto Nationals.
Along with that, The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) and Amherst Public Schools have partnered with Grow the Good Life, which helps high schools connect students to career pathways through hands-on, meaningful experiences. Amherst FBLA and UNK College of Business and Technology have partnered to provide opportunities for students not only for FLBA but for all CTE classrooms.
Opportunities for students include career talks and visits, site visits and tours, project-based learning with employer mentors, resume workshops and interviews, and rural career days and summer camps. We are excited and thankful to be partners and provide these benefits to Amherst public school on behalf of FBLA. Go Broncos!
