Amherst Public Schools will be celebrating Read Across America Week from April 20th-24th. Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA) and guided by a committee of educators, NEA’s Read Across America is the largest celebration of reading.
This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone. For our weekly advisory activity on the Friday of April 17th, the highschoolers will be reading to the elementary kids in the north gym.
On Monday, April 20th from 4:00pm-7:00pm, the Bookfair and Art Show reception will take place. The Bookfair will be in the library from April 20th-24th, where you can buy anything from books, to writing utensils, and even little fidget toys. Please come take a look!
The Bookfair does not come very often, so get your books soon with the BOGO deal on books, and maybe even a fidget toy while you’re at it. It will be open on Monday 7:45am-7:00pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:45am-4:15pm, and Friday 7:45am-3:00 pm.
