The Kearney Catholic soccer teams begin the season with a wonderful win against York. The boys won by a narrow 1–0 margin. The Stars found the net at the end of the first half, while in the second half they picked up two red cards, but still managed to hold off York. The girls on the other hand dominated the match, winning 4–0 with a brace from Kaelin Key.
Kearney Catholic co-ops with both Amherst and Pleasanton high schools this year. The Amherst girls playing are Mackenzie Cochran (12th), Adalyn Skrdla (12th), Breckyn Veskerna (11th), Kaylee Weiland (9th). Boys are Easton Malleck (12th), Kristian Marchese (11th), Talen Watson (10th), Breckon Malleck (9th), Wyatt Anderson (9th). They’re looking forward to a fantastic season.
The next home game (Girls Only) is Thursday, April 9th vs. Omaha Roncalli at KCHS at 5:00 p.m. and the next boys and girls home game is Monday, April 13th vs. North Platte at KCHS at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. Go Broncos!
